Get Your Living Room Ready For A Successful House Party

Yes, Folks! Partying out, late-night clubbing, and bar hopping is history now. So belly up and get your living rooms up to date to host. But preparing for a house party can be intimidating for even the most seasoned housekeepers.

You may have decided to have one that is a week away or perhaps just a few hours from now; getting your living room house party-ready takes more than expected.

We all love having people over, at least we hope you do…may it be an impromptu wine & cheese night, a Netflix & chill, or a full-blown party; you are going to need all the help you can get. If you have planned a party before the time, you can have your maid get your home ship-shape, but what if you do not have much time on your hand?

Fret not! Here are five simple tips to get your living room ready for a successful full house party…

1) Lit Music is a Must!
A house party is nothing if there are no nice beats for the people to groove. Before your guests show up, pick a playlist, if not for the whole night, at least for the beginning. Have the playlist on standby with the songs on shuffle mode and plug it into your speakers or home theatre. Make sure that the music is not playing too loud, as people would prefer talking over dancing.

Let the music be play throughout the evening, but ensure that your next-door neighbors are not disturbed and also that your windows are down. A sound volume of music throughout the night would most definitely make your party a hit.

2) Choose your perfect scent.
The smell is an essential part of how much people enjoy your living room. There are a lot of scents available like rose, jasmine, peppermint, and oranges that would make the overall ambiance of your living room. You can also choose to have scented candles if you want. If you choose candles, make sure to light them an hour before the party is about to start. This would help spread the aroma all over the house.

There is a small difference between catching a whiff of the fragrance and being suffocated in it. So make sure that you stay on the right side of the line. Also, remember to have room fresheners too.

3) Make way for the dancers.
There is no party without good music & there is no party without a dance floor. The side table you thought of hiding in the other room to make extra space? Instead, turn it into a bar—and save space by curating the offerings against your living room curtain design.

How would your guests enjoy if they could not sway to the music you have selected for them. You can shift the furniture to the corners or perhaps move them to your other room and easily create a temporary dance floor in your living room. Do not feel space restrained if your living room is small.

4) Sparkling Restrooms
The restroom in your living room is going to be a center point on the day of the party, given that your home will be flooding with guests. So make sure you hide your toiletries in your closet as it will be ‘off-limits for the guests.

You will need to add an extra toilet paper roll, some new fresh towels, and a handwashing soap. Has the restroom been cleaned before your friends come over, as it would reflect your hygiene and cleanliness?

5) Finger food
For any house, party finger foods are going to rule. A sit-down dinner or even a walk-around buffet is going to keep you occupied, and you will miss out on your party.

Choose finger foods for most of the night as your friends will have to grab them and eat them. It can be anything from fries, chips (nachos), dips (salsa), mini pizzas, popcorn, etc. It is easy to make and eat.

You can also order food from restaurants when needed. Must: Always choose paper cups and plates to serve food and drinks unless and until you do not love your crystals and china. It will save you a lot of cleaning once the party is over. Have tissue boxes, fresh towels, and enough stock of ice in case they are needed.

Apart from these five things, always have a list of things ready. All that you need to do when you are organizing a house party. Fifteen minutes before the party starts, take one final look and see if you forget something so that you can be stress-free and make the most of your party.
